Dr. Bosacker is a family medicine specialist who practices full-spectrum primary care with special interests in sports medicine and preventive medicine. He values collaborating with his patients and developing strategies to maximize their function and enjoy life to the fullest.
Rick earned his Bachelor of Science and Medical Degrees from the University of Minnesota, where he achieved membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. After completing specialty training at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Bosacker enjoyed a broad primary care practice for more than two decades, where he applied his expertise to geriatrics, hospital-based medicine, ICU and emergency care, obstetrics, pediatrics, addiction medicine, behavioral health, and sports medicine. Rick has extensive experience in teaching medical students and residents and has established himself as a trusted advisor for future doctors in Texas.
Dr. Bosacker is a member of the medical staff of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano and Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery.
Finding the healthcare bureaucracy in the United States increasingly burdensome and looking for new adventures, Dr. Bosacker and his wife, Gretchen, a fellow family physician, moved their family to New Zealand, where they practiced for seven years. They were welcomed into their Kiwi community and found the experience extremely rewarding. Still, New Zealand was a long way from their family in the USA, and when CEM offered Rick the opportunity to care for patients and spend quality time with them on their schedule, the Bosackers jumped at the chance to move back home.
Rick and Gretchen have five children, including twin sons who attend Trinity Christian Academy. Rick is a staunch advocate for cycling and livable cities. In his free time, he delights in watching his boys apply their rugby skills to the gridiron.
